SFA Fishing Club Packages at Oxbow Country Estate

Sundowner Fly-fishing Adventures will be managing the fishing at Oxbow Country Estate from 1st March 2024. Lure, specimen and fly for bass/carp/kurper permitted in summer and fly fishing only for trout in winter. A limited number of Summer and Winter Fishing Club Packages are available for a limited time. Purchase of packages is on a first come and first serve basis. A package will only be secured with receipt of proof of payment on confirmation.

All packages recipients will receive Invitations to fishing presentations, Fishing club competitions, and open days. Cost (if applicable) for attending these events is for the guests own expense and not included in the price of the fishing club package cost.

Regular day fishing permit prices:

• Summer with access available on for 1 March to 24 April 2024 & 1 Oct 24 to 24 April 2025
  • Adults @ R200 per fisher per day
  • Pensioner @ R175 per fisher per day
  • Child u12 @ R150 per fisher per day
• Winter with access available Wednesdays for 1 May 24 to 30 Sep 2024)
  • Adults @ R250 per fisher per day
  • Pensioner @ R200 per fisher per day
  • Child u12 @ R175 per fisher per day

Fishing access is available on Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays. Access includes all dams except for days where the Oxbow Country Estate has exclusive events (weddings and conferences). Access for fishers and non-fishing guests on these days where there are exclusive events is restricted to the dams, restaurant and all lodge facilities above Stonebridge. This generally applies to Saturdays and some other days. On these days there will be access to the dams below Stonebridge. 

• Access times are 6am – 6pm
• Meals and drinks may not be brought onto the premises but may be purchased from the bar or restaurant.
• All fishing is on a catch and release basis although trout may be kept and paid for in the catch & keep dam.
• Only de-barbed flies are permitted, and fly-fishing equipment must be utilized.
• Maximum limit of 45 fishers per day

Process for using fishing permits:

Check the availability for the desired booking date via our online bookings on www.sundowner.co.za. Insert your unique discount code in the allocated voucher section. You will be sent an email confirmation of your booking. If there is no availability on the specific day that you would like to book then please call SFA central reservations and we will try to fit you in on that day, if possible.

You can use your unique Winter Fishing Club code to book your day access online. You can book additional fishing guests on the system at the regular day fishing fee. 

The online booking system will request you complete an e-indemnity form each time you make a booking and request an electronic check-in for each fishing day.

Notes:

• The fishing club packages may not be transferred or refunded.
• There are dates during the year when the lodge has bookings for weddings and corporate clients (mainly Saturdays). On these days the top three dams and facilities above stone bridge will be restricted, but access will still be available to the remaining four dams.
• SFA host fly fishing events (May Day Winter Fly Fishing Competition dates tbc) and day fishing access will not be available on these 2 days.
• Terms and conditions as specified on the indemnity form on the fishing permit apply.
• Any contravention of this agreement will result in the immediate cancellation of the package and relinquishing of any remaining day access credits.

Indemnity

Oxbow Country Estate and Sundowner Adventures are indemnified and may not be held responsible for any theft, damage or injury whatsoever. Use of all facilities and fishing gear are at guests own risk. Right of admission is reserved. Staff of Oxbow Country Estate as well as Sundowner Adventures hold the right to enforce these rules.
